Summary
Description
How the Andalusian Horses Dance is a captivating display of equestrian artistry set to classical Spanish music and costumes that draw inspiration from the 18th century. The choreography of the show has been intricately crafted, combining elements of Classical Dressage, Doma Vaquera (a type of country-style riding), and time-honored equestrian tasks. Each production showcases between six and eight unique choreographed pieces.
The Spanish riding discipline Doma Vaquera showcases the traditional cattle herding techniques. The rider guides his horse with just one hand in the arena, starting with trotting and transitioning to a gallop. He changes pace, executes pirouettes, and performs arreones (bursting into a gallop).During Classical Dressage, horses demonstrate complex equestrian maneuvers accompanied by classical music as they perform in the arena.
Through the performance of Carriage Driving, horses and coachmen exhibit the skills and finesse required to operate a horse-drawn carriage effectively. Within the Work in Hand segment, it becomes evident that a physical link between horse and human is not necessarily required for them to perform challenging exercises. Witness the execution of traditional Haute École dressage maneuvers like levades, caprioles, courbettes, piaffe (between pillars), the Spanish walk, and long reins.
Ultimately, within Carousel, a collection of horses and riders execute sophisticated equestrian maneuvers in harmony, concluding the show perfectly.
